The State of Delaware has started a program to cut your energy bills and they will help pay for the improvements.
Energize Delaware is designed to help you cut the amount of energy you use, as well as to help pay for the improvements.
Even if you think your equipment is fairly new, you should look into this program. And, if you are considering energy improvements – you absolutely need to know about this program!

AUDIT:
It starts with an energy audit from an independent, qualified BPI Certified Energy Auditor. Our team includes one of these auditors. They are not employees of Burns & McBride but are from an independent company. It is critical for you to get this independent advice before investing in any home improvement. There is a small upfront investment of $250, but the State of Delaware will pay this back to you when you choose to make any of the recommended improvements.
EVALUATE:
The Auditor will prepare a written report of suggested improvements. These suggestions may include additional insulation, sealing air leaks, or upgrading your equipment. This report will show you how much money you can save on energy by making these improvements and what the cost of those improvements will be. You will know where to invest your money and how much it will save you.
CASH BACK:
You choose how much you want to save. The more the energy savings, the more Energize Delaware will pay you – up to $8,250 for reducing your energy footprint by 45%. If the Auditor feels that your home is running at peak energy efficiency and does not call for any improvements, the report will tell you that as well.
